The academic modules of this exam are recognised as an entrance requirement to undergraduate and postgraduate courses in British universities.

The General Training modules are for students who plan to complete their secondary education in Britain, or to enter further education or vocational training.

This exam has four components: reading, writing, speaking and listening.
